"Revisiting the Glory Days: How Former Players Triumphed in the Arthur Farrell Memorial Cup"

Managers 2-2 Players

(Players win on pens)

Saturday 13th April 2024 saw the Arthur Farrell Memorial Cup contested for the first time on what would have been his 90th birthday.

A fine Spring afternoon saw former C's players took on current and former managers in an eagerly contested encounter. The Players took the lead in the first half and were denied going further ahead with Mark chapman smartly saving a spotkick. The Players eventually managed to add a second after the break before the Managers pulled a goal back to make it 2-1.

With time running out the Managers piled on pressure (and extra players..) and succeded in leveling the tie with a spectacular overhead kick!

Penalties decided the eventual winners with the former players triumphing over the managers after an epic shootout.

HUGE thankyou to everyone involved in making the day a great success - players, supporters, officials all played their part in a memorable occasion - we thank you all for the support you have shown and for the time you have donated!

A special thank you to the Farrell family for their attendance and generous donation to the club in Arthur's memory.

"It's a rare old team to play for..."
